City of Boulder Foothills Parkway at Colorado Underpass
This project includes the replacement of an existing pedestrian bridge over Foothills Parkway with a pedestrian underpass. This pedestrian underpass is two-phased construction of a cast-in-place concrete box structure with custom form liner and rock retaining walls.
The cast-in-place form liner was designed by a local artist and built in Wisconsin. There are three different patterns with their own unique designs that mimic the Boulder flood plain. To minimize installation costs, Hamilton collaborated with the artist and form fabricator to fine tune the size to fit the project site. Each form liner weighed roughly 40 lbs. per square foot. Our crews used a fiber tie system to secure the forms, eliminating tie holes in the form liner. |
