UPRR Brooklyn Subdivision 755.82 Bridge Replacement
In just one 20-hour period, Hamilton replaced an existing bridge with a 68-foot through-plate girder section with prestressed concrete box spans on either end. The new bridge section was assembled offsite and transported to the project site. This challenging project included erecting the new bridge in an extremely limited construction footprint with a curved track alignment; using a 600-ton hydro crane on the slope of a hill; and managing vehicle and pedestrian traffic throughout the short-term, limited road closures.
